Biker Definitions

Beater:
A second motorcycle that owners of expensive cycles use for commuting and errands.
Billet Barges:
Expensive, customized motorcycles covered with shiny parts machined from a solid
block, or billet, of aluminum.
Burnout:
A show-off maneuver in which a rider holds the front brake while racing the
throttle, causing the back wheel to spin and billow smoke.
Pillion:
A Britishism that means the seat or saddle for the second passenger on a motorcycle.
Often used in the United States to refer generally to a woman who rides behind
a man on a motorcycle.
RUB:
Rich urban biker, a derisive term coined by Harley-Davidson enthusiasts to refer
to executives, lawyers and other professionals who buy expensive motorcycles
as status symbols.
MCCB: Middle-class Canuck Biker!
PRB: Poor Rural Biker
PUB: Poor Urban Biker
Squid:
First used in the Navy to refer to new sailors, the term also refers to rookie
riders who drive recklessly or buy motorcycles they cannot handle.
Straight pipes,
drag pipes:
Mufflers with noise-curbing bafflers removed. The pipes, illegal in New York
State, create a deafening roar.
