VS800 Intruder/S50 Boulevard Differences

Chrome
It’s IMPORTANT to NOTE: Mechanically there are very few differences
from the 1992 VS800 Intruder, through the 2009 S50 Boulevard

Chrome
Some Information, may also be applicable for the VS700/VS750 Intruder.

Canada had the VS750 Intruder in 1985 while the
USA started with the VS700 Intruder & received the VS750 Intruder in 1987
These are all the changes that I am aware of between the older
VS800 Intruder & the S50 Boulevard

1:) S50 Tall Risers with Drag Bars
VS800 Short Risers with "Buckhorn" bars

Tall Risers with "Buckhorn" bars WILL need longer cables (speedo, throttle) longer clutch & brake lines & longer wiring
Short risers can NOT be used with Drag Bars or bars will hit the tank

2:) S50 2 piece riser cap
VS800 3 piece riser cap

3:) S50 Switch housing on left handlebar has yellow "flash to pass" button
VS800 No "Flash to Pass" switch

4:) S50 Switch housing on right handlebar has "4 way Hazard function"
VS800 No "4 way Hazard function" switch on

5:) S50 Signals are “Pointed”, but are interchangeable in “pairs”
VS800 Signals are “Flat” but are interchangeable in “pairs”

6:) S50 Backrest optional & can use the assembly from the VS Intruders
VS800 Backrest standard & can be used for the S50

7:) S50 Toolkit in chrome box on right side of motor
VS800 Toolkit stored in backrest

Toolbox can be removed from side of motor holes are "tapped" for three metric 6 mm bolts

8:) S50 1 piece seat
VS800 2 piece seat AFAIK seats are interchangeable

9:) 21" rim from VS700/VS750 Intruders is a direct swap with the VS800/S50

10a:) 19" spoked rim from VS700/VS750 & VS800 is a direct bolt on for the S50 Boulevard

10b:) 19" Snowflake rim from VS700/VS750 Intruders is a swap-able item but note; Snowflake Front Rim Pictures 1 & 2 & 3 if anyone has some nice pictures of the matching Rear rim, I would appreciate a copy

Rim on the VS700/VS750 has the brake rotor on the left & the rim needs to be "flipped" & tire mounted, so that the brake rotor is on the right for use on the VS800/S50
